Additional Professional Experience:  Freelance writing since 1992, with credits including  Detroit Free Press,  Traverse City Record Eagle, English Journal, Michigan Out of Doors, Michigan History, Mackinac Living, and Northern Express.  Columnist for Petoskey News Review since 1999.
