Public Speaking:

Sales- Sell a product through a creative presentation in a 5-8 minute time frame

Extemp-Draw a topic and prepare a 4-7 minute speech 30 minutes of prep time

Impromptu- Time starts when you begin reading the editorial on a given topic. You will have 6 minutes total for your prep and speech.

Broadcasting- 30 minutes to cut and prepare your news broadcast. Your speech must be 5 minutes long with a 1 minute editorial using AP News copy that is provided.

Oratory- You have 7-10 minutes to present an original persuasive speech on a personally chosen topic.

Informative- Present a speech in 5-8 minutes in which you inform the audience about a particular topic 

Oral Interpretation:

Multiple- A group of people(3-8) present a choreographed selection of literature...the time for this is  10-15 minutes.

Duo- 2 people- present any genre of literature, each of whom portray only one character. This event has a time limit of 7-10 minutes.

Prose- Presentation of prose type literature... between 5-8 minutes.

Storytelling- Present a children's story and portray each character, should have action in the story, and it would be great if it has some type of lesson or a moral to take from it! 5-8 minutes

Dramatic Interpretation- A 1 person presentation of a scene from a movie or play that is 5-8 minutes long.

Poetry- Present a 5-8 minute selection of poetry.  Can be a single poem or multiple poems that are related by a central theme or by the same author.
