Joining the team

Step 1:  Contact a coach or contact a friend or classmate who is on the team.

Step 2:  Listen to announcements.  Attend meetings.  Get a physical on file with the school, as well as the athletic code of conduct.

Step 3:  Attend practice daily and make arrangements to attend all scheduled events.

Step 4:  Be a good student.  Complete all assignments and study for tests.  Ask for help when necessary.  It is more embarrassing to fail than it is to ask for help.

Step 5:  Take care of yourself physically.  Eat healthy; get proper rest; dress for the weather; wash your hands and body frequently with an antibacterial soap; notify an adult if you find any type of new skin problem (even if you think it is acne).

Have fun:  Wrestling is the one of the few sports where athletes are able to travel great distances for great competition.  They have several overnight stays at the H.S. level.  We have a substantial off-season program where athletes K-12 practice and compete as individuals.  Many of those individuals move on to compete in various national competitions.
