Meet Mrs. Dionne (Watkins)
Hello! My name is Ami Dionne and I teach eighth grade U.S. History in Petoskey, Michigan. This is my 15th year in education. Besides teaching middle school, I also have experience teaching grades 1-2-3-4 and college courses in Classroom Management and Desktop Publishing.
I received my B.S. in Social Sciences and Elementary Education from Grand Valley State University in 1996. I continued to pursue my education at GVSU and received a M.A. in Elementary Education in 1999. My love of education took me up to Northern Michigan University where I graduated in 2002 with a Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. I don't have any plans for a Ph.D. yet, but don't be surprised when I do!
My husband's name is Nate. He is a teacher at Gaylord High School. We have a son named Isaac, who is 1 ½ years old. We've spent most of the summer enjoying family time.
My favorite hobby is riding my horse, Pride. While not riding, I love running, volleyball, soccer, skiing, and anything active. I also spend a lot of time playing with my dog, Abbie. I love all the activities I can do while living in northern Michigan!
