School Pictures will be taken on Thursday, September 15th.
The Welcome Back Dance will be held on Friday, September 16th
from 3:10 to 5:00.
There will be a top secret meeting for all former morning crew members on Monday during homeroom in the media center. Please check with your homeroom teacher first, and wear appropriate disguises. Thanks, Mr. Frampus
An informational meeting about this year's fall show will be held
in the Cafeteria after school at 3:20 on Monday September 12th. Parents are
also encouraged to attend this meeting to learn about the show we are planning.
This year's show will be a "Young Americans" style review featuring
scenes from past shows. Because we don't have an auditorium for this year's
show we will perform in the gym on November 4th and 5th. There will be many
opportunities for students to act, sing and dance in our review entitled
"Our Auditorium's Broke (that's why we're doin' our fall show in the gym.)
The Petoskey Middle School Songwriters Workshop is an enrichment
class offered by Mr. Westerman for music students who are interested in
learning about songwriting and formal composition. Students must be able to
play an instrument and/or be able to sing on pitch to participate in the
workshop. The class will meet for one hour, once or twice a month. Please see Mrs. Marvin for more information
and to pick up an application.
After school study lab will begin Tuesday, September 13th. Lab begins at 3:15 and ends at 4:15 every Monday through Thursday in the Media Center. Students should be there at the beginning, come prepared, and sign in.
Monday, September 12 had been set aside by our entire school
district and community as Family Night.
On that evening students will have no homework assignments or
extracurricular activities. The
intention is for families to be together and take time to remember and reflect
upon the events following the 9/11 tragedy.
